The Cranmore 5 is Charnwood's newest stove (it should be available from this September) and is based on the successful Aire 5 firebox, which means that it has equally impressive clean burning credentials, being both Defra Approved and achieving the top Level 5 of the ClearSkies mark, well beyond the tough 2022 Ecodesign emissions limits. With an impressive A+ rated 84.0% efficiency it will also make your logs go a lot further. It has a nominal heat output of 5.0kW, which is more than enough for the average to large room, and has a heat output range from just 2.0kW up to 7.0kW ensuring that you can make the most of its welcoming heat for most of the year.
The Cranmore's well-balanced proportions, elegant minimal styling and big feature window somehow delivers a totally different look from its close relative, the Aire. Charnwood say that this design has been inspired by Regency era elements (the simple framing of the window is the most obvious example) and you can perhaps see this by the way its overall look allows it to so easily work within classic fireplace designs like the one pictured here. If the National Trust were looking to replace some of their old open fires then the Cranmore would naturally be at the top of their list – its simply timeless.
Having said that the Cranmore has all of the important credentials to also make it a great free-standing choice for a contemporary open plan living space in a low energy home – pleasing minimal looks and generous view of the fire, direct external air supply capability and the ability to be placed on a 12mm decorative hearth. Like all of the latest Charnwood stoves, this one is also going to be very easy to use. It has one single combustion air control with four basic settings which will deliver the correct mix of primary, secondary and tertiary air for each stage of the burn cycle through the patented Quattroflow Air Management System. It has a cool touch handle and sliding firebed for easier cleaning and ash removal.
Half a century at the forefront of British stove design and manufacture, using only the finest materials and the best combustion technology, has helped Charnwood create this modern low carbon classic for today's discerning home owners, who not only wish to enjoy life's simple pleasures, but also want to minimise their impact on the environment. The Cranmore 5 comes in eight designer colours including gunmetal and almond and is guaranteed for 10 years.
