If you're an architect or interior designer who's looking to make a striking one-off architectural statement or to create a stunning focal point in a living space with a stove or gas fire or you're a developer who simply wishes to bulk buy then The Stove Yard are here to help you. We've been working with architects, new-builders and interior designers since we started out in 2004 and over the last few years have also developed successful working partnerships as suppliers and installers with a number of major volume house developers, especially in Northern Ireland.
Whether it's a traditional or contemporary styled interior, every home needs its focal point; a space where the family can gather round in comfort and relax. In the past this would have been limited to a room with a fireplace and a chimney on an outside wall, but today's larger living spaces and open plan lifestyles require something less restricting, something that allows the designer to think outside the box and that is also designed to be both practical and say something about the homeowner and the architectural aspirations of the space. Big, bold living flame is what's usually called for. At The Stove Yard we offer you a huge resource – a diverse tried and trusted product portfolio of wood, gas and electric heating solutions that all come with our renowned manufacturer-backed technical expertise and genuine hands-on installation experience, plus the all-important impartial advice that will help you cut straight to the best choice of appliance for your application.
Products that dare to be different are, by and large, also technical in nature and when you work with The Stove Yard we can also help you avoid potentially expensive and time-consuming issues with any unique installation idiosyncrasies as well as ensuring how to meet building regulations compliance and ventilation requirements. We're well used to the installation of stoves in homes with MVHR, energy efficient passive-type homes and timber-framed structures as well as designing and creating cost effective and safe flue systems where there are no chimneys. We can also provide the specialist materials and advice for building non combustible mock chimney breasts, room dividers and fireplace islands designed to safely contain today's impressively large frameless balanced flue feature gas fires – great for contemporary hotel receptions, restaurants and bars. We can also help you make the most of your SAP calculations.
At The Stove Yard we can work with you, your client or both. We're happy to simply deliver the appliance and components or alternatively we can supply and install the appliance and its flue with building regulations compliance certified by a Hetas, OFTEC or Gas Safe registered technician. In the case of Northern Ireland, we can arrange compliance directly with the local authority Building Control. In the long run, it's always much easier to plan in the correct appliance and any bespoke structure that will house it as early as possible, that way it can be fully costed and any lengthy delivery times for specialist products coming from Europe can be allowed for and disappointment avoided. To start the ball rolling email karl@thestoveyard.com (include any plans or ideas if you can) or better still call at either of The Stove Yard's County Down or Cheshire showrooms and, if you prefer, you can leave us to do a lot of the leg work for you.
The Stove Yard are founding members of the Stove Industry Alliance and are represented on their Technical Committee. We are also active on the Hetas Technical and Installer Committees which help to develop industry best practice which is issued through their comprehensive Technical Notes and training schemes updates. In addition, we are also represented on the British Standards Institute (BSI) RHE28 Committee which not only develops home grown stove-related standards (eg the recent revision of BS8303) but also works directly with the EU TC295 technical committee which is, among other things, developing the new EN16410 stove standard which will be the replacement for the current EN13240 and EN13229 standards.
