CHARNWOOD BAY 5BX WOOD BURNING STOVE
Charnwood’s nicely proportioned free-standing Bay 5BX wood burner is a truly versatile solution for anyone looking for a contemporary, minimalist ‘box type’ wood burning stove with zero visual clutter. One that’s more than capable of making a striking visual impact as well as efficiently warming a modern living space – and one that’s all British too. Charnwood’s Bay 5BX ticks all those boxes and is also exceptionally well made and simple to use. The Charnwood Bay 5BX will certainly give any Scandinavian competitors a real run for their money.
The Bay 5BX’s practical nominal 5kW output and 3 to 7kW heat range will make it a perfect choice for most small to medium sized living spaces and having direct external air supply capability means that it’s particularly suited for post 2008 and low energy homes. It can also be installed directly on to a 12mm hearth, again making it ideal for modern homes without constructional hearths. Having a full width air washed widescreen window the Bay 5BX is also a stove that will have a strong visual presence with its clear view of the amazing flame patterns it easily produces. The vermiculite lined fire chamber with cast iron log retainer will easily take logs of up to 463mm (approx 18”) long and has a simple drop down baffle to enable the flue to be cleaned through the stove.
The Bay 5BX incorporates the highest construction standards combined with the very best materials and is also very easy to control. There’s just one discreet push-pull control which will deliver the precise mix of combustion air to manage the desired comfort level and this can also boost the air supply when it’s needed to ensure quicker starting fires or after the stove has been refuelled. It also features a discreet lift-up cool touch door handle to preserve the Bay’s clean lines. The Charnwood Bay 5BX’s height can be raised and its striking looks further enhanced with a choice of three optional matching steel bases including a robust centre stand pedestal, a handy open store stand and a wide modern bench. The stove and base option can be also specified in one of Charnwood’s eight tasteful designer colours to complement your interior.
If you have an existing chimney breast or are designing a new-build and can include a mock chimney then you should also consider the Bay inset version, the Bay 5VL. It has virtually the same fire box and casing as the Bay 5BX, with an additional sleek enamelled fascia frame.
