WIKING Miro 6

WIKING MIRO 6 WITH HEAT STORAGE & LOWER DOOR

The Defra approved Miro 6 with heat storage stones and lower log store door is one of five variants in the Miro 6 range which, unlike the two Miro 5 models does not feature side windows but instead these have solid sides. The concealed heat storage compartment above the Miro 6 fire chamber contains around 34kg (5st 5lb) of natural soapstone, the traditional Scandinavian method for storing and delivering slow release heat.  This has the added advantage of delivering heat to the living space long after the fire has gone out to keep the ambient room temperature at a comfortable level. This makes the Miro 6 models with heat storage stones combined with convected heat a great choice for low energy homes where only a little heat is needed.

The Miro 6 offers low energy homes and those houses with mechanical ventilation heat recovery (MVHR) systems a couple of other important advantages. Direct external air supply (DEAS) capability comes as standard and the Miro 6 has also passed the tough German DIBt standard to ensure safe operation in passive homes. These combined with Wiking's unique user friendly door closing mechanism means that you can create a virtual closed system which will help avoid any adverse air pressure scenarios that could affect the stove and flue system's safe performance which can sometimes be associated with well-sealed low energy homes featuring mechanical extraction.

The Miro 6's beautifully proportioned minimalist bodywork conceals state-of-the-art combustion technology incorporating pre-heated tertiary air and the renowned Wiking Automatic system which ensure that the Miro 6 is not only highly efficient but always exceptionally clean burning. The Wiking Automatic is a purely mechanical device which boosts the supply of primary combustion air whenever it's needed especially during initial lighting and when refuelling to maintain high heat in the fire chamber so that even more particulates are burned off. The Miro 6's fire chamber itself features a six-part set of highly compressed, precisely engineered and shaped vermiculite insulating panels to ensure that there are none of the cold corners or panel gaps that you see on other stoves which could leak heat. There's

All of this ensures that the Miro 6 will deliver the maximum heat from your wood fuel with minimum emissions being produced and all with very little operator input. There's just one simple slider control to precisely manage the Miro 6's nominal 4.9kW heat output and generous 3.0kW to 8.0kW heat range. Unusually for a wood burner, there's also a longer lasting cast iron fire grate with separate ash pan for easier cleaning. However, when all is said and done, the thing that attracts most of The Stove Yard's customers to the Miro 6 is its striking visual presence and its bigger than average window that gives you a great view of the log fire. The large glass is also triple air washed to ensure that this view is never diminished. When everything is considered the Miro 6 is a wonderful looking stove that represents extraordinary value for money.

There are six other Miro 5 and Miro 6 variations to choose from – each one offering you something different. Check them all out here – or better still come and see them at The Stove Yard.
