Choose the MiniMax when a compact cooking setup suits the way you eat. It is a useful starting point for two to four people, whether that means a grilled supper for two or several courses shared around the table. Think about the size of your pans and the food you like to cook as well as the number of guests. A whole joint and individual portions use the available space differently.
For larger gatherings, cooking in batches may suit a relaxed meal. If you want several dishes ready together on one cooker, compare the Large before deciding. Choosing enough space for your usual menu matters more than buying a bigger EGG for an occasional event.
The MiniMax works with charcoal, with airflow controlling the fire and the ceramic body helping to retain heat. Direct grilling places food above the coals on a suitable cooking surface. Add the included ConvEGGtor when your recipe needs indirect heat for roasting or a longer cook.
A ConvEGGtor and a baking stone do different jobs. The former changes how heat reaches the food; a separate, compatible baking stone provides a surface for pizza or bread. Select the arrangement for the recipe rather than treating every ceramic accessory as interchangeable.

The carrier makes moving the MiniMax more practical, but this is still a substantial ceramic cooker. Plan suitable help for handling it and follow the manufacturer’s instructions. A compatible MiniMax stand can bring the cooker to a comfortable working height. Consider where you will prepare ingredients and put down utensils as well as where the EGG will sit. Covers should match the complete arrangement, including a stand where fitted.
If you already own a larger EGG, the MiniMax can give you a separate cooking area for another part of the meal. Keep accessories organised by size: equipment that fits a Large or XL should not be assumed to fit the MiniMax.
Start with the food you make regularly. A suitable pan or cooking surface may be more useful to you than a large selection of tools. For pizza, consider a MiniMax-compatible baking stone and the tools needed to handle the food. A food thermometer is useful for checking internal temperatures; the dome thermometer measures a different part of the cooking environment.
