WIKING Miro 5 Wood Storage Warming Shelf

WIKING MIRO 5 WITH WARMING SHELF & WOOD STORE

At 1314mm (approx 53") high the Defra approved Wiking Miro 5 is one of the tallest wood burning stoves in the Wiking range and features both a handy top warming shelf and practical 300mm high log store which will easily hold around 12 logs – more than enough for an evening's worth of heat. The Miro 5 has a nominal heat output of 4.9kW with a heat range of 3.0kW up to 8.0kW depending on fuel load and this is managed with a single slider control discreetly placed just below the fire chamber door.

The Miro 5's door itself is beautifully balanced and has been designed to lock securely with the minimum effort to maintain a 100% room seal. This air-tight seal has undergone the strict German DIBt test to ensure that the Miro 5, when used with its direct external air supply capability, can be safely operated within passive houses and homes with MVHR, or rooms with extractor fans, without any risk of smoke spillage (subject to BS8303 tests).

Like all Wiking stoves the Miro 5 features a larger than average virtually full width window to provide you with a great view of the fire and this is air washed on three sides to deliver more effective glass cleaning. Together with the matching full height side windows the Miro 5 delivers a wonderful 180º view of the whole fire chamber from wherever you are in the living space. Wiking's superior build quality can be seen in the thick steel bodywork, premium cast iron fire chamber door and fire grate, along with the highly engineered vermiculite lined fire chamber with separate ash pan.

To maximise efficiency and minimise emissions, as well as the pre-heated tertiary air at the top of the fire chamber which aids efficiency, the Miro 5 combustion air system also incorporates Wiking's renowned Wiking Automatic system which boosts the primary air supply just when it's needed without any operator input. This makes it much quicker to light the Miro 5 and helps to reduce smoke production when refuelling and at the end of the burn cycle when more air is needed for the effective combustion that maintains cleaner burning.

To sum up, you couldn't ask any more from a stove. The Miro 5 with warming shelf and log store not only offers homeowners impressive Scandinavian looks at a very competitive price but also real practical benefits. Imagine all those wonderful low and slow cooked dishes you can make on its large warming plate that won't cost you a penny. Something to look forward to a miserable winter's evening

There are six other Miro 5 and Miro 6 variations to choose from – each one offering you something different. Check them all out here – or better still come and see them at The Stove Yard.
