What you will notice
The classic arched door
The arch and cast-iron front give the 500 a different character from the square-fronted 525 and the simpler 550. It is a good one to compare if you have a traditional surround.
A compact front
At 430mm wide, the 500 is 176mm narrower than the ESSE 105. It is 60mm deeper, so check the depth as well as the width of your fireplace.
Optional log store
The 220mm log store is a separate option that raises the stove. Tell us if you want it included, and we will check the full height and position with you.
Inside the ESSE 500
The 500 has a nominal 5kW output, 82.9% efficiency and an A+ rating. Choose a top or rear flue connection. An optional 220mm-tall log store raises the stove, changing both its height and how the fire sits in your fireplace.
Compare with other ESSE stoves
The 525 has a square fire view and cylindrical pillars, with the same nominal output and efficiency. It is slightly larger at 440mm wide and 380mm deep. The 550 is taller and narrower at 600mm high and 372mm wide. Of these three, the standard 500 is the lowest and has the traditional arched front.
Planning your installation
Choose the standard stove or log-store version before planning its position. Your installer will check the hearth, clearances and 125mm flue connection for that setup. The shared 500/525/550 manual includes the instructions for the 500.
