Following the huge success of The Stove Yard's Big Green Egg BBQ competition at the recent Sea Bangor Festival, we will be bringing our Big Green Eggs to the Dalriada Festival in Glenarm on Saturday and Sunday 16th and 17th of July for another competition which will again be open to barbecuers everywhere. The same rules will apply and fantastic Big Green Egg prizes will be up for grabs, including a chance to win a Large Big Green Egg worth over £1000 and a MiniMax Big Green Egg worth £550! 8 contestants or teams will be chosen to cook, grill, bake or smoke their way to the top spot and receive the prestigious title 'Dalriada Festival Big Green Egg BBQ Champion'. On 2nd May 2026 (starting at 10am), we're hosting a live cooking demonstration with Jasper Castel, private dining chef and local food figure best known as co-owner of The Boathouse Restaurant in Bangor. Jasper will be cooking on the Big Green Egg throughout the day — expect proper food, real fire, and a few things you probably haven't tried on a BBQ before.
