As many of you will know The Stove Yard are a major sponsor of Ards RFC in Newtownards – you'll also see our showroom staff proudly wearing their Ards hoodies, for example. Not content with our sponsorship money, they now want blood too. Last night Director Richard Poulter, thought he'd wander down to the Club and have a nice relaxing evening watching the boys practice – but they had other ideas. Here's a snippet from the Ards' report on yesterday's proceedings..."Good to see some fresh faces down last night at touch, even with a delayed kick off it was a good game on a beautiful summer evening... the man if the match award has to go to club sponsor Ricky Poulter. 'Big Stove' has trimmed down in recent years back to his natural welterweight and it certainly meant the ‘Kiltonga Killer’ could get up to top speed last night. Poults was running in tries with the efficiency of a Scandinavian clean burn convection stove and like most of his top sellers he was simply too hot to touch."Man of the match, not bad for a man of a certain age and honestly, we didn't write this piece. You'll recognise Richard from a number of our videos.
