HWAM 2620C ON PLINTH

HWAM 2620C ON PLINTH

The Hwam 2620C wood burner is the smallest stove in the Hwam range and is exactly the same as the 2610C but without the side windows. This means that the Hwam 2620C will still not only make a wonderful free standing convector stove but also one that will work well within a modest fireplace opening – and it costs around £300 less too. The Hwam 2620C with its nominal 4.5kW output has been specifically designed for smaller living spaces or homes that don't require a major amount of heat. Having said that the 2620C's heat output range is effective between a lowly and very useful 2.0kW up to a generous 6.0kW. In practical terms this means that you'll be able to fire up the Hwam 2620C much more often throughout the year, for example on cool summer evenings as well as be able to depend upon it when the worst of the winter freeze sets in.

The small semi-circular footprint and the low safe distances to combustible materials means that the Hwam 2620C won't eat into much-needed living space either. The big gently curved 3-Way air washed window (top and both sides), which is proportionally bigger than most, delivers a great view of its wonderful flame patterns. There's no doubt about it, with the 2620C's very simple clean lines Hwam have created yet another beautifully elegant compact convector stove that will work well in virtually all homes. It will also be economical to run too being A+ rated with a tested efficiency of 80.3%.

Being Defra approved the Hwam 2620C can be used to burn wood logs in a Smoke Control Area (most UK urban areas) and because it has also been through the tough German DIBt room seal test and features direct external air supply capability, this also makes it highly suitable for low energy homes, especially those with mechanical ventilation heat recovery (MVHR) systems. The Hwam 2620C is definitely a stove designed for the modern home heating mix and is also going to work well as a back up boost of efficient heat for homes with heat pumps which typically really only provide low temperature heating.

The 'C' in the 2620C model number stands for cast iron door. It's worth noting that Hwam also offer you an alternative 'M' version which features a sleek all-over glass-fronted minimalist modern door. All Hwam stove doors incorporate Hwam's unique door closing mechanism which ensures that you always get a tight fitting room seal with the minimum of effort. There's one user friendly slider control on the Hwam 2620C and this, combined with Hwam's Autopilot system which comes as standard, will allow you to precisely manage the flame height and heat output. There's an option to upgrade the Hwam 2620C with the patented SmartControl (only available in build stage) where the room temperature can be set and gentle reminders to refuel the stove are sounded. With the Hwam Autopilot you'll never need to worry about how to achieve the optimum and most eco-friendly performance — the SmartControl electronics will simply take care of this.

As you'd expect from the Danish stove maker the build quality on the Hwam 2620C is exceptional – you just have to open and close the door and take a look inside the fire chamber to see, and importantly feel, just how well put together everything is. Premium quality materials and attention to detail can be seen everywhere from the 2620C's thick steel bodywork and heavy duty cast iron door to the highly engineered vermiculite lined fire chamber and the robust stainless steel stay cool door handle. A smaller lower pressed steel door, which you simply push to open, conceals the ash pan chamber and ash pan for easier removal of the wood ash when it's needed.

There are five other models in the Hwam 2620-Series and includes wall-mounted and pedestal stand options with a choice of classic cast iron (C) or modern glass-fronted (M) doors.
