But not quite out. Anglesey's 43-year-old nuclear power station was shut down in January for essential maintenance work but other problems were discovered which have resulted in the reactor being off for over five months, say BBC News. It should have been re-started during the Easter weekend and is actually scheduled to be closed for good in September. There are plans for a new generation nuclear power station nearby. A bit too close to the sunny counties of Cheshire and Down for our liking... what's wrong with a carbon neutral, nuclear free, clean burning wood fired plant?
