01.11.14 Scottish Power's windfarm up to speed

The 389MW West of Duddon Sands offshore windfarm located in the Irish Sea some 8.5 miles from Walney Island, Cumbria, is now in full commercial operation. With 108 wind turbines and costing £1.6 Billion it represents Scottish Power’s first move into offshore wind generation. Meanwhile, a final investment decision on the East Anglia 1 offshore windfarm project depends on the Government outlining its subsidy plans. Let's hope they haven't spent all of our money on the recently announced subsidy for the £24.5 Billion Hinkley nuclear power plant.
