Dean Stoves Defra approved Woodbury 8 Eco wood burner features beautiful timeless design backed with state of the art ultra-low emissions combustion to ensure that this is a stove that is as environmentally friendly as it can possibly be. In recognition of this achievement the Woodbury 8 Eco has been awarded Level 5 ClearSkies mark. This is the best you can get in the independent energy efficiency and emissions verification scheme. Delivering a very controllable nominal 8.0kW heat output the Woodbury 8 Eco will work best in a medium to large sized living space, preferably in a good-sized fireplace, whatever the interior styling and where its presence can be really seen and felt.
As with all British made Dean Stoves the Woodbury 8 is exceptionally well made. The slimline superior cast iron full width door with its simple window frame beading has been cast in Birmingham whilst the rest of the stove has been hand-made in deepest Devon. It weighs around 92kg which is an excellent indication of the quality of materials that have been used in its construction. The large air washed window (approx 430mm x 305mm) will deliver a superb view of the fire whilst the two separate primary boost and pre-heated secondary air wash combustion controls will provide maximum control of the flame height and the estimated heat output range of around 5.0kW to 11.0kW depending on how much wood you put in. There's a robust stay cool door handle to safely clamp the door closed with the minimum of effort.
As a highly recommended option Dean Stoves provide, what they call, a Closed Combustion Manifold for the Woodbury 8 which will allow you to directly deliver all of the stove's combustion air from outside the room. This makes the Woodbury 8 a great choice for post-2008 and well insulated homes as it will allow you to avoid having to fit a dedicated air vent' to comply with building regulations. In addition direct external air will also help minimise draughts, especially in older houses, since any warm air in the room will not be constantly consumed by the stove and subsequently replaced by colder air from elsewhere in the house which typically creates unwelcome cold draughts. For greater installation flexibility the Woodbury 8 is suitable for installation on a12mm decorative hearth and there's also an optional space-saving rear flue Back Box.
The Woodbury 8 Eco's generous fire chamber is double lined with highly insulating vermiculite panels to ensure the highest combustion temperatures and will easily handle logs of up to 400mm (16") long with a diameter of 100mm (4"). Apart from the standard matt black paintwork you get an optional choice of eight tasteful colours, including Champagne and Mushroom, to co-ordinate with your interior colour palette. The Woodbury 8 Eco carries a Five-Year Warranty from one of the country's most respected stove manufacturers. Incidentally if the 8.0kW output is too much but you really like the Woodbury's looks then you should also check out the Woodbury Slimline 5 which is physically exactly the same stove apart from having a lower 5.0kW output and a reduced overall depth that's 60mm smaller.
