Whatever way you look at it, the super-wide landscape 'fish tank' format of the Element4 Summum 4S makes it a truly remarkable gas fire – a wonderful 360º architectural statement that will make a stunning centre-piece in a large contemporary open plan living space. As far as living flame gas fires go the 140 4S sets the benchmark for all feature fireplaces and has justifiably earned award-winning Dutch designers and manufacturer's Element4 a global reputation for excellence in gas fire technology.
The Summum 140 4S features Element4's Real Flame Burner, which features additional LED lighting effects, to deliver a highly realistic fuel bed and flame picture that's always exceptional looking, even when operating on a low 'economy' setting. It has a series of naturalistically angled gas burners laid out across the whole width of the fire, combined with subtle lighting playing in and around the surfaces of the lifelike ceramic logs, this creates a wonderful open wood fire feel from wherever in the room you view it. Element4's E-Save remote control comes as standard with the Summum 140 4S and will allow you to set various burner combinations and room temperatures so that you have a flexible heat source that's always easy to live with. You can also choose the ProControl option which will allow you to manage the Summum 140 4S via your tablet or smart phone. In addition, if you have one, you also have the option to link the Summum 140 4S to your home's automation system.
With an overall width of 1586mm and a depth of just 405mm the Summum 140 4S has been specially developed to fit inside a purpose-made contemporary feature island room divider with a minimal impact on floor area (see our photograph). Its see-through virtual frameless and seamless construction, combined with its elegant proportions, will appear to make the top half of the construction float in mid air thus making a unique and distinctive focal point that very few modern room heaters can match. Being a balanced flue gas fire means that you don't even need a traditional chimney, just a suitable outside wall and like all Element4 appliances, the Summum 140 4S gives you the freedom to install it exactly where you want it when it is combined with their unique PowerFan system. This allows you to safely install your fire almost anywhere in the home, even up to 36 metres away from an external wall. The PowerFan has been specially designed to regulate the correct supply of combustion air whilst ensuring there's a sufficient opposite flow of harmful combustion gases without ever diminishing the Summum 140 4S's outstanding performance.
With a controllable heat output range from 2.2kW up to 17.4kW and an A-rated efficiency of 89% the four-sided Summum 140 4S will quickly and conveniently heat your large living space to deliver manageable warmth all-year round as well as create a cosy ambience to go with it so that owning and operating the 140 4S becomes a practical and pleasant presence in your home. One of the most desirable features of the Summum 140 4S is its large all-round view of the and so that you can make the most of it we would highly recommend the ant-reflection glass option which will remove unwanted reflections and glare virtually making the glass invisible thus adding to the stunning architectural illusion.
