The Aga Hadley is a no-nonsense simply styled ‘entry level’ dedicated wood burning convector stove but with performance and build quality worthy of carrying the renowned Aga brand name and Hetas approval. With a nominal convected and radiated heat output of 8kW it will very easily and quickly warm up a larger than average living space. With its ErP A rated 757% efficiency it also offers you good fuel economy. The Hadley’s clean burn credentials are Defra Approved so that you can legally burn dried logs in a UK urban area and the combustion control is very simple with a push-pull primary air booster, at the base of the door for quick starts, and a secondary air slider above the door, for effective management of the burn rate.
The cool touch handle is recessed within the curved door profile to minimise its visual impact on the Hadley’s clean design lines which are finished in a contemporary graphite grey. For the cost-conscious, although the door has a gentle curve the glass is actually flat, so should you ever need to replace it, it is going to be much cheaper and easier than if it were curved. It’s a big tall window too, giving you a great full height view of the impressive flame patterns and, as you’d expect from an Aga stove, it also has a highly effective preheated secondary airwash to help keep it clean.
The side convection panels mean that the tested minimum distances to combustible materials on the Hadley are significantly reduced compared too other convector stoves – only 200mm at the sides and rear (subject to minimum distances for the connecting flue pipe etc). There’s a good sized log storage at the base of the fire box which also allows the stove to be positioned on a non-combustible 12mm heart (subject to Building regulations) and which should help to keep costs down for free-standing installations.
