The Hobbit SE stove, is the Smoke Exempt version of the ever-popular Hobbit, and will fit into spaces where other stoves just would not be safe or practical. Importantly, it will still deliver an efficient 4.0kW of heat output, enough for your average urban living room – or your very own 'amazing space'. Certainly the tiny Hobbit has captured the imagination of those DIYers who want to make their garden shed, caravan, horse box, woodland retreat or a hundred other spaces their special warm and cosy hideaway. So if this is what you're planning then the Hobbit has an excellent track record for this sort of thing but just make sure you don't ignore the distances to combustible materials, they're there for your safety. Fortunately, the Hobbit's safe minimum distances have been derived from its rigorous UK CE EN13240 testing so you'll be able to rely on them. And while we're talking about your safety, don't forget the all-important Carbon Monoxide alarm.

With traditional cast iron construction, the Hobbit has a net efficiency of 74.7% when burning wood and options which include a stove stand, direct air capability (factory fitted) and brass or 'chrome' safety galley railing. Compact, clever and competitively priced – no wonder the little Hobbit stove has such a big following of ardent fans.

Please note that the Hobbit SE has a 100mm (4") flue outlet which means that if you are installing it within a dwelling then the installation must conform to Building Regulations Document J. This will normally mean that you will need to fit a flexible liner which, because the Hobbit SE is a clean burning Defra Smoke Exempt Appliance, can be 125mm (5") and not the standard 150mm (6").

For more detailed information go to our Hobbit page by clicking here. We have a Hobbit stove (which looks the same as the Hobbit SE) on display in The Stove Yard Co Down showroom.
