Nordpeis Smarty 5kW Wood Burning Stove
There are two versions of the 70s retro-styled Norpeis Smarty wood stove – the Classic Smarty (with four chunky cast iron legs) and the slightly 50mm taller Concrete Smarty with two sturdy side panel legs made from fine concrete and painted to match the black bodywork colour. The striking all-curved main body of the stove is traditionally built from robust heavy duty cast iron to create a sizeable heat sink which will radiate heat long after the fire has gone out.
The compact design is complemented by a stout easy grip chrome handle which incorporates the recessed polka-dot pattern detailing featured on the side panels. There's just one discreet push / pull combustion air control (below the main body) to control the wonderful flame patterns provided by the highly efficient (81.2%) clean burn / airwash technology. The Smarty's clean burning credentials are further enhanced by the Thermotte® refractory fire box lining which is proven to promote emissions friendly burning as well as a cleaner fire chamber and, of course, there's also an optional direct air supply kit (DEAS) for the well-insulated home (subject to Buildingregulations).
In our opinion, the Norwegian designed and built Nordpeis Smarty is a solidly built top quality stove – it weighs in at a splendid 134kg (170kg for the Smarty Concrete) and this, combined with its simple functional elegance, will make it a striking, yet supremely practical feature, in virtually any style of home.
