The Yorkshire-made Highlander 7 is one of The Stove Yard's best-selling 'medium' sized stoves. It has a strong visual presence and a large fire chamber which belie its modest 6kW output rating (which is why its Solo configuration is now rated at 7kW). The Highlander 7's precision-engineered steel body, premium quality cast iron door, classic styling and outstanding performance make it the perfect choice for any homeowner taking their first steps into the joys of wood burning and energy independence. When The Stove Yard, first started out we only had space for one live stove to heat our whole showroom so it was a 'no-brainer'  to chose the clean burning Highlander 7 because it ticked all the boxes – and it never disappointed us, even on the coldest winter days.

Tried and tested, the Dunsley Highlander 7 comes from a company who have been in the heating business for over 60 years and who have earned an excellent reputation for the outstanding quality and reliability of their stoves. It is a true multi fuel stove and burns mineral fuels or wood equally well. This is because of Dunsley's unique shaker grate system which can be closed up to form a solid bed for wood embers but, at the 'flick of switch', can be quickly opened up to provide all of the under-grate air essential for efficient mineral fuel burning. You can also externally riddle the Dunsley shaker grate. If you plan on burning a regular mix of wood and mineral fuels, say adding mineral fuel in the evening for 'slumber' burning overnight, then the shaker grate makes the Highlander 7 an excellent choice. The primary and secondary air slider controls allow the subtlest of changes to the combustion air supplies which further enhances the Highlander 7's multi fuel credentials.

Like all Dunsleys, the Highlander 7 comes with a high leg option (HL) which will increase the stove's height by another 70mm. There's also a stainless steel add-in boiler option which can be specified at the time of purchase or which can be easily retro-fitted by using the two pre-punched apertures in the back of the stove. When fitted to the Highlander 7 the little back boiler will provide a surprising 3kW heat output to hot water (and / or radiators) and 3kW of heat to the room. There's also the more contemporary looking 7kW version called the Highlander 7 Solo, featuring tertiary air, which you can see here. If you want to burn wood legally in a Smoke Control Area then check out the Defra Approved Highlander 7 Solo Enviro-burn here. Whichever version of the Highlander 7 stove you choose you can be sure that quality and performance both come as standard with a Dunsley.
