According to a recent GreenWise Business News story (licensed from Guardian Sustainable Business) typical Green Deal upfront charges of between £95 and £150 are likely to put off householders from taking out a Green Deal loan to improve the energy efficiency of their homes.

Green Deal loans can cover the costs of, for example, replacing old central heating boilers or improving insulation, with the loan repayments then being offset by the money homeowners have saved on their energy costs.
